11th Annual General Meeting of ANQ concluded

The 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ANQ was held on November 10, 2013 at Centre William Hingston, 415 St-Roch, Montreal.

Welcoming the ANQ members to the AGM, ANQ president Muga Rajbhandari elaborated the efforts and achievements of the association during these two years.  He added that the executive committee was primarily focused on better communication – revamping its website and social media presence, networking with various communities, involving fundraising programs - not only for Canadian school and social organizations but for orphanage in Nepal, preserving Nepali culture and providing social service to the new comers.  He appreciated the cooperation and sincerely thanked to all its members, Executive Committee including all Sub-Committees who played vital role developing strong foundation of the association during past two years. Similarly ANQ advisor Dr. Hemant Paudel commended the work of the team and encouraged to continue the same in future as well. ANQ Former President and Advisor Prakash Mungrati thanked executive committee for their hard work and achievement. NRN Eastern Canada VP Pabitra Upadhaya highlighted the need to be united for the society helping each other and wished continue growth of the community.

Secretary and the host of AGM, Deepak Shrestha presented the Annual report highlighting more than a dozen of this year's activities and achievements such as New Year Celebration, Blood Donation, Summer Picnic, Teej, Deusi-bhailo, Mini Marathon, fundraising etc.  He has also presented the proposed future programs of the association that includes New Year, Summer picnic, Teej, Dashain Deusi Bhailo, Mini Marathon, Badminton, Volleyball, Football, Blood donation, Membership drive, Nepali language & culture promotion and networking etc.

ANQ Treasurer, Sraddha Bista, presented financial report and gave an overview of the income, expenses and account balances and mentioned that the association has been able to increase its revenue by more than 300% during these two years. A detailed financial report was also distributed to all the attendees of the meeting.

All the reports were thoroughly discussed and passed unanimously by the AGM

An election committee comprising Dr. Hemant Paudel, Prakash Mungrati and Dr. Krishna Bhandari was also formed to elect a new executive committee for the next two years. The AGM requested and approved the existing committee to continue leading the organization for next 2 years making necessary changes to the executive committee structure. The meeting also elected Rishi Shrestha, Samira Khatiwada, Prajwal Sainju and Deep Nandan Achhami as new ANQ executive members.  At the end of the meeting, President Muga Rajbhandari thanked all for their trust and support.
