Public Fundraising to help Nepal's earthquake victims

May 2, 2015, Montreal: ANQ organized a public fundraising event on May 2, 2015 at various metro stations in Montreal and Laval as follows:

Metro Montmorency - a team of volunteers led by Mr. Balmukunda Maharjan and Mrs. Mala Budha Magar

Metro Lionel-Groulx: a team of volunteers led by Mr. Navin Gautam and Mrs. Gita Parajuli

Metro McGill: a team of volunteers led by Mr. Muga Rajbhandari, Mr. Prakash Mungrati and Mr. Rishi Shrestha

During the program banners and Nepali flags were displayed and brochures seeking help for earthquake victims were distributed to the passer by requesting for the monetary help. Many generous Montrealers stopped by, showed their concern and donated cash during the campaign. From all locations, a sum of $ 2,422.35 was collected on that day. 

Speaking with CTV Montreal, ANQ President Mr. Muga Rajbhandari said that such a huge catastrophe had never happened in Nepal and earthquake victims in Nepal are in desperate need and we, Nepalese community in Montreal are doing whatever we can to help our friends and families in Nepal. Speaking in the occasion, Mr. Rishi Shrestha told that the victims in Nepal need food, medicine, shelters, etc. immediately.
