ANQ Sent Relief fund $25,000 to Nepal’s Earthquake Victims

Our community in Montreal is tiny but the needs of our quake-stricken homeland are great.

Immediately after hearing the devastating earthquake in Nepal on 25th April 2015, we started raising funds to assist the Nepal’s earthquake victims. We launched numerous campaigns including online, public fundraising, movie screening, Candlelight Vigil, Yoga lesson, Email campaign, etc. We also received donations from numerous self-motivated volunteers/well-wishers raising funds on their own.

As of June 15, 2015 we have raised gross $26,710.01. As decided by the board meeting we have sent $15,000 to Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) via NRN Canada and $10,000 to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund via Embassy of Nepal in Canada for immediate relief of earthquake victims and reconstruction of Nepal.

ANQ would like to thank all our members, donors, media and general public for generous support and thoughts towards Nepal and Nepalese in this difficult situation.

We hope our small contribution will help immediate relief of victims and rebuild Nepal.
