Another successful Teej celebration event was organized by ANQ on Saturday, September 3rd 2016 at Ganesh Party Palace. ANQ Vice President Mrs. Gita Prajuli welcomed all the participants and wished all a "Happy Teej" with some of her beautiful teej poems.
This time we wanted to try something new, so rather than doing potluck we tried the menu of Ganesh Party Palace.
All participants mingled among the crowd, some were not having seen each other since the last get-together. While a playlist of popular Teej songs played in the background, everyone seemed to have a great time, dancing, eating and most of all enjoying the precious company by our community. Many dancing feet were ever-present throughout the afternoon; some opted for solo dancing, wowing everyone presented with the finesse and elegance of their dance whereas others were just happy grooving with the rest of the crowd, occasionally sitting or jumping up as songs changed. This year our male community members got chance to watch some of the dancing feet via FB live video.
All in all, it was wonderful seeing a group of beautiful ladies adorned in beautiful bright sarees showcasing their Nepalese culture, something that the young girls in the room surely did not fail to notice.
We would like to thank all participants. A special thanks to ANQ Vice-president Mrs. Gita Parajuli, executive members Mrs. Mala Budha and Mrs. Nirmala Kunwor for their huge effort and initiation to make this event unforgettable. We would also like to thank executive member Mr. Anuj Khanal for untangling and fixing up our speakers, Mrs. Deepa Poudel for beautiful music collection and ANQ Treasurer Mr. Prajwal Sainju for helping us in organization process and make this event successful.
We hope to see you all again in next year’s annual Teej festivities!
